THE OFFICE meets WEEDS in a brand new mocku-comedy series about your local marijuana clinic. Our beloved owner Marty Forrest, played by Joe Hursley (WHITE GOLD, ACCEPTED), discovers his job is about much more than selling weed - it's about keeping his sanity.

Co-starring Caroline D'Amore, Luke Massy, and Gabbriella Gatto. Created by Danny Lee, Executive Produced by Danny Lee, Joseph H. Shim, and Karen Waldron

Some of this was actually shot in the Five Four office!

Congrats to Danny in his latest venture and best of luck from the family.

  • Beverly Hilton

July 30, 2008 By Andres Izquieta 0 Comments

The Beverly Hilton in Los Angeles is launching a revitalization plan for the infamous property that ha been a staple of Beverly Hills for the past 50 years.

Some of the highlighted improvements are the following:

    • New 120-room Five-Star Waldorf=Astoria hotel designed by Gwathmey Siegel & Associates Architects.
    • Revitalized 402-room Beverly Hilton with new luxury rooms, an expanded destination pool area, upgraded IAAC certified Executive Conference Center and a new Grand Entry.
    • Create 120 luxury residences on the property.
    • Generate $11.5 million in annual tax revenues and more than $11 million in one-time fees to the City of Beverly Hills to help fund police, fire, schools and parks.
    • Generate nearly $55 million in annual spending at local retailers from hotel guests and new residents.

Not only are there many financial benefits for the city of BH and its residents, but it will improve the landscape of the this infamous intersection. I have grown up in L.A. all my life and felt that L.A., specifically the city of BH needs a project like this for the city and its visitors. BH has gotten very stale as of late, and its residents, specifically the older ones, don't want to change it at all.

    CHANGE IS GOOD.

Change brings new opportunity, new business and brings excitement to a community. Not only this, but the project itself is pretty impressive. I'm a big fan of luxury and architecture, and there's lots of it in this revitalization plan.

There is a ballot for Beverly Hills residents this November 2008 put on my an organization trying to stop this revitalization plan. VOTE YES to revitalize the city.

It's important to think about the present, and more importantly the future...not dwell in the past.

Here are some photos of the before & after plans.

Christopher Haines is a graphic designer from Perth, Australia.

I'm really into this style, he blends digital illustration with typography, photo-manipulations, to full blown 3d matte paintings and surreal landscape.

  • Yogurt Land

July 30, 2008 By Andres Izquieta 0 Comments

Tried Yogurt Land for the first time yesterday, it was amazing.

This place is a self serve yogurt place, similar to Pinkberry, but better. Dee put me on this, and all I have to say is watch out Pinkberry.

They even have my favorite ice cream flavor in yogurt form: Pistachio.

  • Scorpion

July 29, 2008 By Andres Izquieta 0 Comments

The Scorpion, a hydrogen fuel injected hybrid, is built by auto design & manufacturing company out of Austin, Texas.

The vehicle utilizes new 'hydrogen on demand' technology, which, simply put, generates water from the inbuilt tank, turns it into hydrogen and then injects this into the car's system.
